Biography

Farquar Haqqani, affectionately known as “Haqqa” by his friends, is a KYUEM alumnus who has carved a unique path in the corporate world, driven by a passion for societal change. With a solid foundation in economics from the University of Warwick and a stellar career as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Haqqa has consistently demonstrated relentless determination. His journey began with fulfilling his Yayasan UEM scholarship obligations at UEM Edgenta, then honing his skills at AEON while pursuing his master’s degree, and ultimately securing a consulting role at Bain and Co. Haqqa’s leadership was evident early on, influenced by his debating experiences at Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) and KYUEM, and further cemented during his tenure as chairman of the United Kingdom and Eire Council of Malaysian Students (UKEC).

Haqqa’s professional trajectory took a remarkable leap with the prestigious ICAEW qualification, which he views as a golden ticket in the corporate realm. His exposure to the ICAEW program’s ethical decision-making, strategic thinking, and financial acumen has prepared him to become a change-maker in the business world.
