Haniz Nazlan, an accomplished alumnus of Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM), has significantly impacted the financial industry as the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT). After completing his A-Levels at KYUEM, Haniz pursued a degree in Actuarial Science at the London School of Economics (LSE) on a scholarship from Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB). His dedication and academic excellence earned him the Tan Sri Halim Saad Gold Medal at KYS. Haniz began his career at PNB, where he spent over 13 years, starting as a Management Trainee and eventually leading the Strategic Asset Allocation Framework and other key initiatives. His tenure at PNB culminated in the Leadership Excellence Award, recognizing his significant contributions.
In August 2019, Haniz transitioned to LTAT as the first CIO, where he has been instrumental in managing the Armed Forces’ retirement savings. His role involves strategic decision-making and overseeing investment portfolios to ensure the financial security of Malaysia’s national heroes. Throughout his career, Haniz has emphasized the importance of continuous learning and leadership development, completing advanced programs at the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and Harvard Business School. His journey from a dedicated student at KYUEM to a leading figure in Islamic finance and investment underscores his commitment to excellence and nation-building. Haniz’s story inspires current and future students, demonstrating the impact of hard work, determination, and a strong educational foundation.
